Text: 1 Peter 2:11-12

 

 

God calls us to take off our masks and be whole people wholly devoted to him and to his kingdom.  There is no such thing as “dual-citizenship” in the kingdom of God.  We are called out of darkness and into life, adopted as children of God, built into a holy temple, priesthood, and nation.  Challenges to being wholly devoted to the Lord are everywhere, but there is no place more at odds with God than our own hearts.  As Peter calls us to be holy from the inside out, he prepares us to withstand the war on the inside so that we can stay on mission on the outside.
