Text: Psalm 23

 

 

We all have loved one that we have the privilege of caring for in our lives, but because of the Fall and our own struggle against sin we are constantly faced with the reality of our inadequacy in providing the care that our loved ones deserve.  David was a shepherd and David was the King.  I cannot help but think that has he reflected on his time in both of these roles, he realized his own failure to fulfill his responsibilities to care for his charges perfectly.  But where we and where David fall short, the Lord is perfect.  Psalm 23 is a celebration of two great truths: the Lord is the perfect and personal Shepherd-King.
